Once you have learned the Minor Pentatonic you might want to consider learning some other scales, which will totally broaden your horizons as a lead guitarist and musician generally...
The Major Scale gets a bit of a bad rap being the most musical sounding and yet kind of the least ROCK & ROLL sounding... Think of "The sound of music" and Twinkle Twinkle)
But the Major scale is just one of 7 MODES, which are very interesting and all based on the same basic scale pattern... 7 notes in an octave, all made up of TONE or SEMITONE (whole or half note) Intervals....
They are called - Lydian, Ionian, Mixolidian, Aeolian, Phrygian and Locrian and they are very cool...
